Hands-On Learning
Students learn by testing, observing, building, and experimenting.
Energize Youth brings free, hands-on clean-energy education to students through interactive workshops that transform scientific concepts into experiences they can see, test, and understand.
Energize Youth is a free, hands-on educational program created to help young students understand where energy comes from, why sustainable energy matters, and how engineering can contribute to a cleaner future. Participants explore real energy-generation concepts through demonstrations, challenges, and interactive activities.
Students learn by testing, observing, building, and experimenting.
Scientific ideas become engaging, age-appropriate experiences.
Students explore how innovation and sustainability work together.
Vismay Patel · Founder, Energize Youth
Vismay is a rising senior at John P. Stevens High School who is passionate about sustainable energy and the role engineering can play in creating a cleaner future. He created Energize Youth to make clean energy understandable, accessible, and exciting for younger students.
Vismay is also developing a biomechanical energy-generating tile designed to turn energy from footsteps into usable electricity. The prototype explores the same pressure, contact, and motion concepts taught through Energize Youth.
The long-term goal is to make clean-energy generation more practical, scalable, and cost-effective.
Organizations can request one workshop or host the complete three-part Energize Youth series.
Piezoelectricity
Students learn why clean energy is important, then explore how certain materials generate electricity when pressed, bent, or vibrated. An interactive activity shows firsthand how force can become electricity.
Learn how pressure, contact, and motion can generate electrical energy.
Practice experimentation, observation, comparison, and problem-solving.
Understand why cleaner methods of energy generation matter.
See how young people can explore and contribute to engineering solutions.
